Embracing Serenity In Unexpected Moments And A Farewell to La Palma

Our final day on La Palma turned out to be a mix of unexpected moments and sweet farewell. Originally planning a volcano hike, we ended up savoring a slow morning with coffee, soaking in the sunlight filtering through the pine forest. A late breakfast of fried eggs set the tone for a leisurely day.

Our destination, the recreative area El Pilar, the starting point for our volcano adventure, surprised us with a closure due to "The Transvulcania" ultra-marathon. No worries though, as we embraced the change and explored the recreational area, discovering barbecue spots, play areas under the pines.

We improvised our dinner plans at the fireplace at El Pilar, creating a feast mit the mountain backdrop. This place, not just a trailhead but a haven with its family-friendly amenities, became our unplanned delight.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we descended to the meadows, immersing ourselves in a vibrant flower meadow to witness the day's final curtain. Dani, with his lens capturing the essence of the moment, took a stunning photo that would forever encapsulate this unexpected adventure

A slight hiccup in finding our next camping spot reminded us that the journey matters more than the destination.

As nightfall approached a narrow agricultural road tested our navigational skills, leaving a mark on Lenny, our trusted companion. Opting for caution, we chose to reverse our path, finding solace in a new camp near El Paso. Under the star-studded sky, we shared a glass of wine, basking in the warmth of camaraderie and the magic of La Palma.

Waking up on our last morning, we were greeted by a meadow of flowers with a view of a recent volcanic eruption. Over a cup of coffee, we absorbed the beauty, a perfect start to bid adieu to this enchanting island, that had woven itself into the fabric of our memories.

La Palma, with its mix of volcanoes and blossoming meadows, holds a special place in our hearts. As we left, we carried the island's magic with us, knowing we'd be back. Until then, the whispers of the wind and memories of La Palma linger in our hearts.

See you soon `La Isla Bonita”
