Bad stuff happening everywhere and with so many different forms of media available, we are provided day by day with the latest incidents faster than ever before. In a world where nothing seems safe, it’s almost impossible not to feel this grief, fear and anger, that is warranted when faced with the reality of what humans are capable of doing to other humans. I’m not qualified or even intelligent enough to be able to tell you how we can make any of this better in the world but I just wanted to share some thoughts.
We may have different religions, different languages or different colored skin. But we are all human and no one is born in hating each other, because of the color of his skin, his background or his religion. People learn to hate and if they can learn to hate they can learn to love again. Normally it should be much easier for us, because love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite…right?
I thing the beauty of the world lies in the diversity of the people, just as this so-called Happy Place, where we can live in peace. True happiness comes from a sense of inner peace and contentment, which is accompanied by love, compassion, openness and understanding.
Remember, no matter what part of the world we come from, fundamentally we are all the same human beings. We all seek for happiness, try to avoid suffering and looking for the happy place. We have the same basic needs and concerns. Furthermore, all of us human beings want freedom and the right to determine our own destiny as individuals. That is human nature.
At the same time, the problems we face today — violent conflicts, environmental pollution, poverty, hunger etc. —are mainly created by humans. But likewise these problems can be solved only by human strength, understanding, feelings for each other and common togetherness. To achieve this, everyone should take responsibility for each other and for the planet we share, based on a good heart.
Next when we leave the house we should look for opportunities to connect with someone you don’t know — chatting in a shop, in the line at lunchtime, on the bus, saying hello to a new colleague. And try to say something positive to them. When you get home journal about how it made you feel.
Let’s create our own Happy Place, wherever we are! Happy Places are not dependent on the location, but rather what we feel at this moment in our heart.
Wouldn’t be nice if we all have more hold and stability and a little bit more of security in our life.
Sending you all my love,
