How to get more body self confidence and how to fall in love with you own body?

Tough question … right?

 

Although my blog primarily focuses on fashion, I would like to take a moment to reflect on something that’s important to me and what my message stands for: Self Confidence.

When I started this blog, it was simply a creative outlet, like a way to share my personal style and to express my creativity in fashion styling.

But over the years something has changed in me and I want to address my blog not only for fashion issues, but also to inspire woman to feel conformable enough in their own skin.

Because no woman or girl should have to worry about the way she looks – she should be having fun and enjoying herself and life.

 

I know it’s hard how to stay body positive, even in a world where we learn through the social media that we don’t deserve to be stylish and beautiful just because we are not tall, slim and beautiful enough.

While I spend some quality time with my love in Paris he took these pics of me. I wasn’t sure to publish them because I still have a few body self confidence issues as well. But I started thinking about the term “body self confidence”, and how I should able to boost my own confidence through the years. Because at the age of 41 years you already should be above it all. But you know, actually this bothered me a little bit more as I thought. 😉

 

However after I thought about my personal struggles, why I didn’t accept my curves, wrinkles and imperfection, I came to the decision to share these pictures. I know some of you would say that I should be happy with my body. But often you aren’t satisfied with yourself or your own body. I would rather to retouch these photos. But I accepted that my body is as it is and I try to focus as the following points say.

1. MIND OVER MATTER: IF YOU DON’T MIND IT DOESN’T MATTER

Think about being 20 years older than you are right now. Would you like it if you looked back and thought : “I wish I had been happier in my skin and appreciated the body I had 20 years ago” or would you prefer to look back and think: “I had the best time on that beach, at that party or on that date…etc” ?

 

2.YOUR BODY IS MORE THAN WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Our bodies were designed to function. Think of the amazing things your body does every day. It allows you to move around effortlessly, to see, to feel and to taste. Celebrate your body and all the incredible things it can do, take care of it and it takes care of you. These are things that are actually self-evident. But not everyone has the fortune to have a body that works as it should be.

3. REMEMBER A BEAUTIFUL THING IS NEVER PERFECT

Perfection is dull and in my eyes impossible. Being real is meanwhile rare. Even the models you see in the magazines don’t look like themselves and they aren’t perfect as well. Being happy with your body doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It simply means you’ve chosen to embrace your imperfections.

 

4. TO WISH YOU WERE SOMEONE ELSE IS TO WASTE THE PERSON YOU ARE

We are all unique. Fall in love with your uniqueness and remember we’re all different so there’s absolutely no point in comparing yourself to other women. Compare and despair is not the most fun way to live your life. Don’t give in to an inferiority complex, or let your body confidence become dependent on those around you. Remember too, you never really know what others are thinking; they could be looking at you wishing they had your legs, belly, bottom, hair or face.

5. INVEST IN CLOTHES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL FABULOUS

You don’t have to spend thousands of pounds, but investing a little time into buying some great clothes can help you to begin to appreciate your body. Wearing the right clothes that fit, flatter and make you feel amazing, rather than the tight and uncomfortable clothes that inevitably leave you feeling insecure, really helps you look at your body in a kinder, healthier way.

Important is, be kind to yourself. Get to know your body better and be thankful for it.

I hope todays article inspires and helps you to get more body self confidence. Be that person that walks into a room and everyone goes “wow”, because you are owning your body no matter what day your have.
