Fresh and happily married, since December 2017, I would like to share some priceless tips when it comes to find the wedding dress of your dreams.
Here’s how to find and choose the right one for your big day. I prepared some helpful advices from my own personal experience.
Oh I know too good, wedding-dress shopping could be fun but also very difficult, overwhelming, frustrating and sometimes even annoying to find the right dress. The last thing you want is stress, unhappiness and uncomfortableness. And it really shouldn’t be, because as a bride you should enjoy every minute, especially the time before the wedding.
That’s why today I’m writing down everything, what you need to know and what I can remember. In order to make things easier for you, to feel comfortable and to enjoy every minute.
Woman should be more true to their own personal style and I think, nowadays they are. It’s not necessarily sticking to what the norm is for the wedding. There are a lot more girls wearing two pieces, wearing more fashion forward items like jumpsuits or wearing dresses in a gypsy-bohoo-style. I also didn’t choose a typical wedding dress. I wore a beachy kinda dress, which had a romantic and summer-like style, if you can see on the pics.
Think about: Do you want to look sexy, understated, modern, chic, traditional? Or perhaps you want your dress to have a vintage touch? Once you find your look, I promise you will get your dress. Share your vision with your dress-consultant or your friends, who will help you to find the style that match the feeling you wish to create on your wedding day.
Browse all of the latest styles in Pinterest and pin your favorite wedding dresses. Then take a step back and look for similarities amongst the dresses. You should start to notice commonality amongst the styles that draws your attention. Once you’ve figured it out what you really like, create a mood-board of your favorite dresses and take it to your shopping tour.
We’ve got such great bridal stores in Las Palmas. I think if you are looking for amazing designer dresses, you don’t even have to necessarily look further afield. In every city you will find a local bridal or designer store to find a dress, which fits especially for you.
I always recommend to check out the online shops. I saw incredible dresses at Net-A-Porter and Asos. You can try them on, return them for free, there’s no obligation to keep them. Asos is the exact same. It’s great for anyone on a budget. I don’t necessarily agree with the “budget” issue, if you put this dress next to a high end one, no one can see the difference. And no one is going to ask you how much your dress was. I ordered from Asos 14 dresses and when I got them, I did a nice and funny fitting evening with the girls. And what can I say, I just found my dream wedding dress. It was just the first one of the 14 dresses I tried.
A wedding dress that seems on the hanger not so good may end up looking spectacular once you actually try it on your body. On the flip side, a dress that you’ve been find online might doesn’t look favorable and doesn’t fit to your body shape. You should always be open at least to try. You never know!!!
I don’t think there’s any strict rules. For example, for long sleeves in winter or strapless in summer. I think whatever you’re comfortable in, it’s just perfect and right for you. I felt so comfortable in my dress, because it has just the right shape which fits exactly to my look I wanted create and besides it covered perfectly my unlikable zones of my body.
I’m about comfort. If you can’t dance in your shoes the whole night (unless you have a change of shoes you feel comfortable in and will stick work with your dress) could be a big problem. I would be always opting for comfort. A tip, go for a brand you wear often. A lot of bridal dresses, accept shorter options, are full length and you can’t even see them. I don’t think they are the most important part. I saw pictures with beautiful boho-wedding dresses paired with Birkenstock sandals. Although I found a perfect suitable and wonderful comfortable pair at Asos I just took them off. Because our wedding ceremony was at the beach and it was so ok to be bear feet.
If you would like to go for a two-piece, something a bit cool or different and you wanted to make sure no one was ever going to wear the same as you, then take a look at vintage and alterations and find out if they can redesign something similar for you.
In the end, choose the dress that feels right for YOU, no one else. This is YOUR day and YOUR dress! You should feel beautiful and confident in your wedding dress. Only you can make the right choice, not your maid of honor, Mom, friends or whomever else.Unsure if it’s truly the one. Get yourself in the wedding-day mindset and see if you could imagine yourself walking in this dress. If the answer is “yes” and you don’t want to take it off, that’s a sure sign that your search could be over!
Just follow you heart!!!
I hope there are some tips, that will help you to make the right decision.
Wish you all the best!
