Let’s get started with some classic skinny jeans.
Skinny jeans may be the most popular trendy denim pants, but the general consensus is that they’re also the most difficult to wear and shop for.
Shape: As the name suggests, they are hugging and fit you snugly. They take the shape of your legs and trace it all along. If you have lean and long legs and you would like to show them, these are for you. Skinny jeans come in low, mid, and high rise waist cuts, all of which are usually stretchable.
Pocket Placement: A favorable aspect are the back pockets. Their pockets are small and placed high on your behind, which means it makes your booty look smaller and lifted!
Flattering: For all women with an hourglass body shape, who are petite or anyone with slim but short legs can wear skinny jeans perfectly. Because they elongate your legs.
Avoid: If you have an apple or pear body shape. Or If you have stronger legs like a mesomorph body type.
Do you love jeans that are snug and hug your body? But you don’t have the body confidence to pull the skinnies? Then try these pair of straight legged jeans. But also the cropped jeans devinetly fall into the tricky category. If you are tall then you don’t have to worry as much.
Shape: They are in-between skinny and boyfriend jeans.
Pocket Placement: Look at the space between the bottom corners of the back pockets. The wider the space, the wider your seat will look. As you can see very nice on me. 😆
Flattering: Suit most body types. But, for us more vertically challenged ladies, cropped pants present an issue.The hemline will shorten your legs. For that reason, I always wear heels with cropped pants to gain a few extra inches.
Avoid: Don’t wear these trendy denim pants with flat shoes. This will shorten your legs. Be careful with the back pocket placement, if you think you don’t have the smallest butt.
People started calling these trendy denim pants “boyfriend jeans” because they look like they were borrowed from him. However, they add coolness and edginess to your look, but they can also appear quite baggy and masculine.
Shape: They are not too tight nor too loose. These give you a great fit near your waist and hip area, and broaden a little bit as they move down. En general they give you more volume at the lower part of you body.
Pocket Placement: The back pockets are more closely positioned, which can help to visually slim your rear view.
Flattering: Women who are curvy or have a pear or apple-shaped body type. Wear something more fitted on the upper body to offset the volume of the jeans.
Avoid: If you’re petite or short, as they might make you look shorter. Don’t wear wide and loose tops.
Actually it’s quite difficult to give you a safe or fixed guideline on how to wear all these trendy denim pants, because every body is different. There are hourglass body shapes with long legs or short legs. Or V-body shapes with narrow hips and wider hips. So there is no 100% guideline. The only thing I can recommend, is to make a fitting and take pictures of all the trendy denim pants you like. As you can see on my pics, I took my camera, put it on a tripod and connected the camera with my smart phone. With the phone I could activate the self-timer of my camera and snapped some pictures. Afterwards I was able to see the photos in detail and and I could figured it out exactly which pants fit suitable and which not. It was important for me tow see how the pants were from back. Because this was always impossible to check out in front of the mirror.
But in my opinion it’s all depends on your personal taste. I didn’t like the skinny jeans and I kept the straight cropped and boyfriend. The skinny I returned. Maybe You would ask yourself : “Why? I really like the skinny jeans.”
That’s why I can’t and I don’t want to give you a fixed guideline. I can only give you some helpful impulses. Because only you have to feel good and not me or other people.
