The choker had its peak in the 1990s, overran the 2004 catwalks, came back again in spring/summer 2012, popped up again last winter and will continue this summer season as well.
The choker works best with low-cut neckline tops or anything that doesn’t cover your collar bones. Believe it or not, it works with almost anything. It is a versatile piece, as long as your neck’s length allows it. If nature didn’t grant you a long neck with enough space between the chin and the shoulders, then, choker is not the best accessory for you.
To give you an idea I prepared a few style advices for you:
The Choker is perhaps the most non-exclusive piece of jewellery ever made, indeed you can easily make your own. But at the same time it is delicate. Choker an unusual accessory and adds a different mood to your look. It gives even to the simplest of looks the “Certain something”. They have various forms and material. Satin, velvet, leather, metal, wide or thin band. I’ve seen some younger fashionistas playing with the extendable tattoo-style chokers. Even I have already combined some with my outfits. Just have a look at some previous outfits from me!
I’m always fan of the grungy and punk leather one. For a woman who isn’t like shining and glittering, it is a refreshing alternative to diamonds and golden necklaces.
But find out for yourself what kind of choker do you like.
It’s worth trying. Trust me!
