That’s why finally I would like to show you my fabulous self-made one-shoulder top here, on the blog. I’m sure that most of you have already seen it before in some previous post or on my social networks. It has became one of my favorites tops. I love the asymmetric style of this one-shoulder top and of course the fabric. I made it of one of my boyfriends old men shirts. Top quality!
Now as the warmer weather sweeps in I like to show a little shoulder action. There are many ways to style a one-shoulder top. For this look, I paired it with my embroidered blue jeans, fishnet stockings and my old school Adidas sneakers. But I am also planning on wearing it again but paired with a skirt or shorts, as a more elegant and formal outfit. Stay curious…!
Anyone who knows me will remember that I like to mix high and low pieces, but I always love scoring a timeless piece that costs actually nothing and making it looks more expensive than it is. For example, like this one-shoulder top. Only cost me maximum 2 hours of my time and the 3€ for the satin ribbon and the metal eyelets. At the same time, I really enjoy the creating process. I forget everything around me and can switch off my mind. It’s quality time for me. Thats why you gonna see more and more DIYs here on my blog.
Do you dare to bare the shoulders, too? It’s a little more feminine and perfect for the summer season. Here’s how to wear off-the-shoulder tops—from beginner to advanced—all summer long.
BEGINNER: Cold-Shoulder Top
The top has only cut outs at the shoulder. You can keep the rest of your arms covered if you’re not ready to flaunt it all.
INTERMEDIATE: One Shoulder Top
One shoulder is covered and the other shoulder is free. Ready to graduate from the cold-shoulder, but not sure about going totally off-the-shoulder, then the one-shoulder is the adequate item.
ADVANCED: Off-Shoulder Top
Subtly sexy, but never too revealing. Paired with flare jeans or faithful skinnies, the pro-level off-shoulder look will really test your style chops.
