Thats why today I would like to show you one of my favs summer outfits. I wore a floral kimono and my beloved straw hat, which you have already seen on my blog. I’m loving this spin on florals for summer, especially because you can keep the rest of your outfit simple and let the kimono make the statement. But take a look for yourself.
These fotos are taken at my current place of residence, Pozo Izquierdo. The windiest place in Europe. Actually this day wasn’t so windy, but still enough to destroy my hair styling… 😆
Luckily the floral kimono is a very functional and off-road garment, which adapts perfectly to both, day and night looks. Inspired by traditional Japanese robes, contemporary kimonos have been given a modern update with floral prints, fringe, loops, varying lengths, and will give any outfit a cool, boho vibe. If you are still thinking they’re only appropriate for music festivals, then you are wrong! Kimonos can we worn with anything in your wardrobe, from skinny jeans and heels or layered over a mini dress for more formal outfits.
That day I took the opportunity to combine the kimono with a bandeau top, light and airy satin shorts, straw hat and a smoky rose colored bag made of suede. The shoes I added, are flat sandals made of bordeaux colored velvet strips to lace around the ankle.
I used for this look once again a self-sewn piece. It is the bandeau top, which I sewed it out of an fabric rest of a mens shirt. So easy to make and a great piece to create manny summer outfits.
Do you like the light and airy summer looking the floral kimono? Looking forward to here some feedbacks. Give me a comment if you like!!!
Thanks and all the best
