With my fresh “Look Of the Week” I would like to show you some fashion trends from my ’90s childhood, which you need to start wearing again.
I’m feeling a little bit nostalgic yet… 😆
The ’90s were a great time for pop culture and rock music. So take a nostalgic walk down memory lane, like I did and check out some of the hottest items I prepared for my “Look Of The Week”.
The anti-fashion trend of the 90s attitude culminated in grunge style. One of the most favoured looks of the decade were grunge looks. Grunge is an edgy and attitude-filled fashion. In the recent season, the return of grunge style has been evident on the streets. From ripped denim and baggy tees to plaid shirts and layered slip dresses, essential grunge items are on-trend once again.
Stretching back to the grunge days when Nirvana was king, a graphic tee (band tees) and a unbuttoned long sleeve shirt over or tied around the waist was one of the ultimate fashion trends of the 90s and a great styling trick (bonus points if yours was plaid). 😉
Denim really made a splash in the 70s but by the fashion trends of the 90s they’d been ripped, dyed, cut, and embellished. Cuffing them became an easy way to style (or alter the hem) with little effort
Military has made its way back and what better way to embrace it than by sporting some commanding combat boots! This black pair is ready to put you in charge, in any outfit from daytime to night. The combat boots go with everything. Whether it’s dresses, pantsuits or lavish outerwear, they instantly add that cool touch to whatever you’re wearing. They will edge up any outfit, while also keeping your feet warm.
When it came to accessories in the ’90s, chokers were “it”. These collar-like necklaces sat tightly around the neck and added an edgy element to outfits. While many were made of stretchy plastic and designed to resemble a tattoo, others boasted a fabric construction and featured charms and jewels. In 2017, chokers are well and truly back in fashion and can provide a range of outfits with a chic touch by the fashion trends of the 90s.
I realized that the cool thing about this kind of chauffeur’s cap trend is to wear it in an unexpected way. Matching it with a grunge look is stylish but wearing it with a elegant mini skirt and romantic blouse is refreshing.
What do you remember if you grew up in the 90s? Do you remember some fashion trends of the 90s, which I don’t show today by my “Look Of The Week”.
Then leave a comment with your favs ones. Just to keep up more styling inspiration for the current fall season, because “Smells Like A Teenage Spirit”… !!!! 🙄
