Most of designers have used this item for almost every Fall/Winter Collection since more than 30 years and that will continue for sure the next several years. That’s why a suede jacket is in any case a long-life investment.
Wearing suede can be considered a luxury, but don’t worry, it’s a luxury you can afford. 😉
So check out my complete post about how to wear a suede jacket, or more specifically, how to wear a brown suede jacket as a casual street style look, and learn some handy tips and tricks on how to create also a formal look.
Thanks to suede’s versatility, there’s a number of ways you could add this fabric into your outfits. However, in my opinion the best looks tend to be the most simple. Suede came out between the 60s and 70s years, when it would be found on almost every items surface. Now-days, modernness plays a key role with contemporary takes on suede, in both cut and colour.
The amazing thing about good suede jackets is that they can be worn with a variety of outfits, and work with the most casual or more formal looks. But good doesn’t mean expensive. I found my jacket on sale and it was not expensive at all. Sometimes, if you have some luck, you will find a cool suede jacket in a vintage shop, too.
Important is to focus on the cut and shape of your jacket, opting for closer fitting, more tailored styles for smarter finishes. The contrast between sharp lines of tailoring pieces and a loose silhouette of oversized suede jackets is a stylish alternative to an overcoat. Tailoring suits worn with a suede jacket is an unusual combination, and therefore, it’s all about to use the contrast to your advantage. But you should keep in mind that nice clothes and good colour combinations aren’t always enough to make you stand out. Your attitude will always be the final touch to your outfit. So make sure that you’re feeling comfortable in what your wear. Then you get by yourself a stunning attitude.
You already know, that I always go fo an casual style. Thats why I chose to combine for me a denim-strettstyle-look.
Because also a simple eye-catching combination can be created by wearing a brown suede jacket with a good pair of jeans. You should try to make your brown suede jacket the focal point of your look, and not combine it with pieces that are going to compete with it. Something as basic as a white or black t-shirt can be enough to create a clean, everyday look. Pieces like denim shirts and ripped jeans can help to bring some extra personality to your outfit if you want to go for something a bit more out there.
Make your brown suede jacket ton the focal point of your outfit and you’ll be sure to hit all the right style notes. Wear with neutral colours and you’ll have the looked nailed.
I paired my suede jacket with a black tank top, ripped denim in boyfriend cut and some ankle sneakers with cork optic. That’s it!
Cleaning suede is a bit difficult but if you protect it with a suede protector spray properly before you wear it, and of course don’t wear it in the pouring rain, then everything should be fine.
Clean the surface by using special suede brushes, paper towel or baking soda to remove coffee, juice, and tea. The jacket will then be able to be kept looking as good as new.
I hope I could inspire you with my casual suede jacket outfit, which I actually wore in fall. Normally it’s a typical fall outfit because of the color scheme but I think it’s also a cool way to dress in spring as an everyday street style look, when the sun doesn’t want to come out.
Have a nice day.
