Our hair is actually an important accessory that we usually forget. Actually we don’t use it so much, except from time to time a blow dry and a hair-do for a wedding or a night out with friends.
Experimenting with my hair is scary for me, because haircuts and good colors are obviously permanent and the wait for it to grow out is the the most painful things I have to go through.
A wile ago, it was the first and last time, I have experimented with my hair with a DIY hair color. It was the day of the big Carnival Parade in Las Palmas. After getting up in the morning I discovered at the roots of my hair a few very suspicious light almost white hair … ;-)). Totally in panic I bought in the supermarket a hair color of a famous hair care brand (Very bright but ash blond). I called my friend and we dyed my hair at home. It was about 2 month ago and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made regarding my hair. After I washed out the product the result was horrible. At the part of the roots I got a really yellowish blond and at the length I got a light blond but with a green touch. So we tried everything we could to fix it, aspirin, ketchup, violet shampoo…etc. Nothing helped. Finally we gave up and I put a scarf in my hair to cover the disaster. Thanks god that this year the theme of the carnival was hippie… ;-))
Next Monday I looked for a hairdresser in the neighborhood and I went directly to remove the misery. It was a hairdresser, which I didn’t know, but had open on Monday. They fixed it and I was quite happy about the result but confessedly it wasn’t perfect. As you can see on the following BEFORE pics:
From this day on I noticed that hair color changes not only your look but also livens up a little bit your personality. Hair color is like makeup!!!
We should think about how those shades work with our complexion? It’s all about placement, saturation, and what undertones in your skin you’d like to emphasise. The decision you and your colorists have to make is, which colour you would like to bring out in your face to look stunning.
Fortunately last week I got a appointment at my fav hairdresser FRDK Hair Salon in the south. To gave me the hair color that I feel great with. I know I can trust these guys and with this happing I have made the experience that I will never ever dye my hair at home. You defenely need the help of a pro.
We decides to go back to my natural blond on the roots (darker blond) and keep the lighter blond on the length, like the hip Ombre trend. The Ombre hair coloring technique has taken the hair color world by storm. Ombre hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends. It is ideal for a woman like me, who is always looking for a low-maintenance hair style.
The only thing they added to the length is a little bit of pink. It’s a bold semi permanent hair color of REDKEN calls City Beats / City Ballet Pink. I love this color combination because is like a blond but better…;-
You’ve probably already noticed that I still in love with one of the Pantone’s 2016 Color of the Year, which is Rose Quartz. Believe it or not, but pink is 2017 still in fashion. Especially the powdered-pastel hair trend feels right at home at the moment, incorporating these serene color into everyday wear via hair color, instead of in the closet. My new hair color has definitely made me more courageous and adventurous. Because as I said in the beginning: Hair color is the new makeup.
Check out the different!!!
